The Person

 Who we’re looking for:

  • Someone with strong written and verbal communication skills (in-person and via email, text message, social media DMs)
  • Someone who loves to learn new things and is open to constructive feedback
  • Someone who can keep their cool in stressful, time-sensitive situations
  • Someone who has a love and appreciation for music of all kinds
  • Someone who’s available most Saturdays between May and October 

Bonus points if:

  • You have experience DJing with turntables or a DJ controller
  • You have a valid G license
  • You can lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, unassisted

 

The Job. 

As an Assistant DJ You Will:
  • Work primarily on Saturdays with occasional Friday and Sunday opportunities available 
  • Help with set up and tear down
  • Take requests from guests
  • Help the Associate DJ read the room
  • Capture video clips and photos for social media content creation
  • Mix live while covering the Associate DJ’s breaks 
  • Coordinate with the other event professionals and the Associate DJ to ensure a smooth running event  

 

The Pay

  • This position works on a casual, part-time basis, only as event opportunities arise
  • We’re looking for someone to be an ongoing part of our team
  • Assistant DJs earn a Living Wage which is currently $19.09/hour 

 

Day of the Event

  • Help with load in, set up, strike down, and load out of equipment
  • Set up the reception equipment while the Associate DJ sets up the ceremony equipment 
  • Take requests from guests
  • Help the Associate DJ get the ceremony ready
  • DJ cocktail hour
  • DJ during the Associate DJ’s breaks
  • Take requests from guests
  • Assist the Associate DJ get guests ready for special moments 
  • Be the photo booth attendant (if applicable)
